FILLERS

Some wrinkles are accentuated by muscle activity, such as when nasolabial folds deepen when smiling. Fillers can also be used to plump or augment the lips and treat lipstick bleed lines. They give you a fuller face and plumper lips, while improving shallow contours, softening facial creases and wrinkles, or change the contour of the jaw, giving you a more natural-looking, refreshed look. Dark, undereye circles can also be improved when injected. However, they cannot help with excess sagging skin, and the results of fillers last for only a few months to a year but help boost collagen over the long-term. With regular use, injectables and fillers need to be replaced less frequently.
Some patients request some form of anesthesia: PRO-NOX which is a patient-controlled gas, local or topical anesthesia (some come with lidocaine in the filler) and can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes or more depending on the area being filled. You should stop any NSAID pain relievers, including aspirin, Motrin, ibuprofen, and Aleve, or fish oil supplements for at least one week before the procedure to minimize bruising and swelling and avoid scheduling any important social events for a few days after the injections.
