Nearly a third of men surveyed said they have considered facial plastic surgery to stay competitive in the workforce, compared to 10% of women.
One day you look in the mirror and realize that time, gravity, sun exposure, hair loss and heredity have taken a toll and you simply do not look like yourself any more.
From injectables, face lifts, chin lifts, rhinoplasty (nose restructuring), laser treatments, facials, skin tightening, etc. to hair regrowth or transplantation, we offer a litany of services to treat aging concerns for men in a private, discrete environment. You can make a quick visit to our office for a consultation or some of our procedures and you’ll be back to work for your afternoon meeting. Some other anti-aging surgeries, procedures and hair transplants take longer to recover.
According to the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), what’s driving the willingness and desire to have cosmetic procedures? Their survey “indicates ‘selfies’ and other social media images are putting on display and magnifying perceived imperfections. In fact, 22% of respondents indicated they were frustrated and motivated to aesthetically change because of their pictures on social media.
Photographs on social media can deliver a distorted image of reality, holding up a magnifying glass to flaws, real or perceived. This is causing plastic surgery requests to skyrocket in both teens as well as adults.
Interestingly, men, at 31%, were more concerned about looking better in their selfies than women, at 19%.
Despite the decreases in specific procedural areas, one thing is abundantly clear: The number of men flocking to plastic surgeons for both surgical and nonsurgical procedures continues to increase dramatically and are up 43% this year alone,” states Michael Edwards, MD, President of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Over the past 5 years, (since 2010), there have been significant increases in the following procedures for men:
Botulinum Toxin-Botox(up 84%)
Hyaluronic Acid (up 94%)
Nonsurgical skin tightening (up 37%)
Intense Pulsed Light (up 44%)
Since ASAPS began collecting statistical data in 1997, there has been a 273% increase in the number of procedures performed on men. “This is not a trend we expect to see wane anytime soon. Facing a challenging and sometimes ageist job market, men, like women, are starting to consider their options to maintain a youthful appearance that exudes exuberance and energy and the full spectrum of care offered by board-certified plastic surgeons caters to their individual needs,” explains James Grotting, MD.
Dr. Hochman understands these issues and has the education and expertise as a double Board certified facial plastic surgeon, head and neck surgeon and hair specialist with decades of experience; a master at anti-aging procedures and surgeries. Patients still look like “themselves”, only better! You will look refreshed, rejuvenated and feel more confident. “Soften your lines, not your edge”

“Laser hair removal is one of the most commonly done cosmetic procedures in the U.S. It beams highly concentrated light into hair follicles. Pigment in the follicles absorb the light. That destroys the hair. Lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair from the face, leg, arm, underarm, bikini line, and other areas. Benefits of laser hair removal include:
Speed. Each pulse of the laser takes a fraction of a second and can treat many hairs at the same time. The laser can treat an area approximately the size of a quarter every second. Small areas such as the upper lip can be treated in less than a minute, and large areas, such as the back or legs, may take up to an hour.
Predictability. Most patients have permanent hair loss after an average of three to seven sessions.
What to Expect During Laser Hair Removal
Just before the procedure, your hair that will be undergoing treatment will be trimmed to a few millimeters above the skin surface. The laser equipment will be adjusted according to the color, thickness, and location of your hair being treated as well as your skin color.” WebMD – “Laser Hair Removal”
